The FMRM and the College of Pharmacists strengthen their collaboration to ensure that more municipalities agree on the agreement that provides medicines to people without resources.

The president of the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia, María Dolores Muñoz, and the Secretary General, Manuel Pato, yesterday received the president of the College of Pharmacists of the Region of Murcia, Paula Payá, at the headquarters of the FMRM. They discussed collaboration to extend the agreement facilitating the provision of pharmacological treatments to people without resources to more municipalities. Currently, only the local entities of Murcia, Cartagena, and Molina are eligible.

The president of the College of Pharmacists commented that "thanks to this agreement, pharmacies can provide treatments early to people receiving municipal benefits due to their financial circumstances." She added that "the COFRM subsequently receives the payment for the medications dispensed from the municipalities."

"The agreement between the COFRM and the municipalities means that financial difficulties are no longer a reason for patients to continue their treatments normally," says the president of the COFRM, who believes that "the intention is to extend this measure so that citizens in the rest of the region in similar circumstances can benefit."

A few months ago, the FMRM sent a communication to all municipalities informing them of this agreement in order to increase their participation, as the service is very beneficial for low-income residents. A reminder campaign will also be carried out so that local public entities can learn more about this initiative and participate.

The meeting was also attended by Rosa Alarcón, the representative of the Pharmacy Office Owners.
