FMRM meets with social sectors to work on the socioeconomic reactivation document

20200528 2

The Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia, as previously announced, approved a base document at its last Executive Committee meeting, which contributed to the Regional Government's reactivation project. The process of developing this document, which provides local input into the real reactivation project, has moved into a second phase of social participation.

As part of this effort to achieve a powerful project that delivers results, this week the FMRM began a series of meetings with various social and economic sectors in our Region of Murcia.

In this phase, the objective is to open the participation and collaboration of all sectors of the economic, social, and economic life of the municipalities so that their contributions can shape a useful local proposal, which, as President María Dolores Muñoz states, "is intended more as a practical guidance guide than a theoretical document, but one that can be replicated with local policies."

The first meetings were held with the trade unions CC.OO and UGT. In this first meeting, the FMRM outlined the objectives of its proposal and heard a range of initiatives that could be included in the guide.

Among the common measures proposed are the need for local councils to ensure funding more in line with the services provided, efforts to modernize local human resources and promote teleworking, strengthening social services, promoting local employment plans, supporting measures aimed at family reconciliation, prioritizing economic and commercial activity in the municipalities that make up the region, and coordinating and partnering with public administrations and the private and social economic sectors.

For his part, FMRM Secretary General Manuel Pato said that "this document can and should be concretized from a local perspective in the regional agreement reached between unions and the government, since it is essential to understand the views of the social sectors in order to overcome these difficult circumstances."

In the coming days, we will work on concrete proposals and measures that the unions will submit to the FMRM for discussion and incorporation into our document.
