The first formal meeting between both administrations has been held in order to ensure good coordination for decision-making on issues of great interest to the municipalities of the Region.
The president of the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia, María Dolores Muñoz, accompanied by the vice president of the Federation and mayor of Ulea, Víctor Manuel López, and the Secretary General of the FMRM, Manuel Pato, held the first formal meeting this morning with the Government Delegate in the Region of Murcia, Pepe Vélez, to present him with issues that the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces defends before the central administration, and which are therefore common with the interests of the municipalities that make up the Region of Murcia.
Among the topics discussed at the meeting, the most important were the request to use the municipalities' own surplus funds, the establishment of an unconditional fund for all councils, especially those without a surplus, and the assumption of responsibility for the costs of processing the minimum living wage.
According to the president, "this meeting is only the first of many to be held to ensure the necessary coordination for the implementation of essential actions in support of municipalism and for making decisions that improve the functioning of local governments."
