Numerous initiatives will be carried out that will lead to the opening of the Federation, not only to the Town Councils of the Region, but to the general public.
The new legislature of the FMRM, headed by its current president, María Dolores Muñoz, also mayor of Bullas, is committed to a comprehensive renewal in form and substance, where modernity, transparency and accessibility to the Federation are facts and not promises. To this end, numerous initiatives will be carried out that will lead to the opening of the Federation, not only to the Town Councils of the Region, but to the general public, so that everyone can rely on this entity.
Among these activities, many will respond to the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, which are very important to achieve the changes that Murcians are expecting from the administrations, and the FMRM wants to lead as many as possible. However, one of the key aspects for its new president is to obtain a Law on Local Financing, a fundamental pillar for the work axes of the Federation of Municipalities.
This body demands a real and stable system of municipal participation in non-financial regional income, which contributes with clear criteria and without discrimination based on aspects such as the number of inhabitants, population density or fiscal effort. For this reason, the FMRM claims that an increase in income of 2 percent would be sufficient, from the current 4 percent to a final XNUMX percent. Its simple objective is to look solely and exclusively for the citizen, through the search for cultural and organizational changes that also help to implement new technologies applied to the local sphere and to electronic administration.
Furthermore, avoiding depopulation in the smallest municipalities of the Region will be one of its priorities, as well as a package of measures that will boost them economically and socially. Well-being, education and youth will be three of the basic pillars for the FMRM on which to base all these requests.
