The Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia held another working meeting with key entities in the field of sustainable mobility and energy, within the framework of the European Interreg PROMOTER project. The meeting allowed for continued progress towards a cleaner urban model by promoting prosumer energy centers , capable of generating and consuming their own green energy.
The session was attended by the Director General of Mobility and Transport of the CARM, José Antonio Verdú Yllán , as well as representatives of the main municipalities and entities that make up the group of stakeholders of the project: the city councils of Lorquí, Cieza, Murcia and Alcantarilla , the University of Murcia , FROET , Tranvía de Murcia and EuroVértice , among others.
During the meeting, three fundamental lines of work were addressed:
1. Improvement of the Regional Transport Master Plan
Proposals were analyzed to strengthen both the political and technical dimensions of the Master Plan, especially regarding the intermunicipal transport plan , incorporating the best practices collected throughout the PROMOTER project.
2. Implementation of the Ostend good practice in the Lorquí PMUS
Progress was presented on the adaptation of this measure, focused on improving urban mobility through access control and limiting speed to less than 30 km/h in school areas and sensitive areas of the municipality.
3. Organization of the next project study visit
The attendees reviewed the preparations for the upcoming international study visit, gathering support from stakeholders to encourage their participation and facilitate future transfers of best practices to the Murcia region.
The meeting reaffirms the regional commitment to sustainable mobility , green energy and European climate transition goals.
