The FMRM renews an agreement with the Department of Family and Equal Opportunities for the development of judicial measures for minors
The president of FMRM, Joaquín Hernández, has signed with the Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, the renewal for four years of the agreement for the fulfillment of judicial measures for the provision of services for the benefit of the community by minors.
One of the judicial measures that juvenile judges can impose is the performance by the young person of unpaid activities of social interest or for the benefit of people in precarious situations. The most beneficial thing for the effectiveness of these measures, considered to have a high educational content, is that they are carried out in the place closest to the minor's environment and consist of activities related to the type of crime or offence that he has committed.
According to this collaboration agreement, the FMRM will carry out with the municipalities the work of dissemination, contact and collection of offers from local entities for the effective compliance of the judicial measures in their area of competence. Thus, the president has assured that currently this agreement is in force in 15 municipalities of the Region, but that work will be done so that all 45 adhere to the new one.
Last year, the Community, through the General Directorate of Family and Social Policies, was responsible for the fulfillment of 236 benefits of this type.
