The FMRM launches the Local Administration Board for the preparation of the Regional Passenger Transport Master Plan.
The Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia will collaborate and participate with the Regional Administration in the drafting of the Passenger Transport Master Plan for the Region of Murcia through the creation of a Local Administration Board, within the Regional Transport Board created in July, which will collect and present the proposals and needs of the municipalities, as confirmed in the meeting held this morning at the headquarters of the FMRM between the General Director of Transport, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, the members of the Urban Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Commission, with its president and mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, and the General Secretary of the Federation, Manuel Pato.
During the meeting, the general director has informed the mayors and urban planning councillors of the different town councils present of the draft of the plan and the methodology to be followed for its preparation. Likewise, the FMRM has announced that over the next week the work plan for the constitution of the Local Administration Board will be addressed, which will have a composition of 6 to 9 members, among which there will be representation of the town councils by their size, by regions and by political affiliation.
The aim of the FMRM is to establish participation as a working tool for this Local Roundtable. For this reason, regional roundtables and a virtual forum will also be created on the Federation's website with municipal technicians.
“At FMRM we pursue increasingly sustainable cities and municipalities, meeting the challenges of the Horizon 2020 programme and the Sustainable Development Goals. Infrastructure and transport play a fundamental role in this, and we will therefore work to have efficient infrastructures that promote economic progress, which influence the harmonious development of cities for the benefit of social cohesion and from the necessary alliance between institutions and companies,” as highlighted by the Secretary General of the Federation.
